![]() ![]() For the typical battle, I found little value in using the pause mechanic, though in boss battles it is often needed as you need to make good use of all of the characters.īalance oddities put an emphasis on melee classes that can deliver powerful, consistent strikes. The style of play is similar to Dragon Age: Origins (on PC, more so than on console). ![]() There is a pause mechanic that you can use that allows you to give out orders if you want a greater level of control. Your character essentially hacks away when you choose a target, and you can target commands (most accessible in a hotbar at the bottom of the screen) similar to an MMO. For one, the gameplay is more action in nature than games like “Baldur’s Gate”. Why ‘Dungeons & Dragon Age’ (Origins)? Because there are a lot of components to the game that make it different from the classic Dungeons & Dragons game. Between these two features Sword Coast Legends is a solid offering with room to grow, though some might feel that this version of D&D is closer to Dungeons & Dragon Age than the Baldur’s Gate they remember so fondly. ![]() One is the ability to play campaigns, including the one crafted by the development team, and one where you get to play the role of virtual Dungeon Master and create your own challenges. This particular offering has two distinct components. For it to be clear and intuitive, always change the quest name to one of your own design.Sword Coast Legends takes us back to the popular world of Forgotten Realms that so inspired a generation of RPG fans way back with the likes of Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale. From the window that will appear pick the quest that you want to assign. After walking to such room, place any item on the ground (or a NPC) and, by marking the object, select the Quests option. It can be, for example, the first room of the dungeon. In order to make it possible for adventurers to complete such quest, select the place where they will receive it. You assign this command to a NPC or an item. IMPORTANT 2! No quest can be started without using the give command. If you won't do it, the quest will not appear in any of the previously created locations. If you create a quest (for example, boss defeat), you must open the location edit window and assign the quest in the Quests tab. IMPORTANT! Each quest must be assigned to a location. If you mark the Reward Gold? option, after completing the quest all adventurers will also receive gold. Here you will not have many options, you must select a template provided by the authors of the game. The last option is reward for completing the quest. Information about creating your own characters can be found in the next subchapter. You can pick a predesigned template created by the game developers or create your own monster. ![]() Below you will find the Boss Type option which allows you to select the boss that you want to place in the dungeon. Assign Quest allows you to assign the mission to a specific location. First one is obviously the quest name which can be modified as you want. Defeat boss quest type allows you to set few options. This information will be useful for players who are not sure whether there is something more in the dungeon to find. The last option (Complete the Module?) is responsible for showing a screen when an adventurer have fully completed the module you created. In each tab related to quests you can modify the number of items available to collect (during a Collect quest), their type and reward for completing the task. After selecting a quest related to defeating a boss, it is important to unmark the option in the dungeon edition menu that adds a boss to the last room no matter whether a quest is assigned to that dungeon or not. There are few templates to choose from: Collect, defeat boss and defeat enemy. The third and final step when creating locations is assigning quests to them. ![]()
